CAPTIVE ELEPHANT FOOTCARE PROGRAM WITH ELEPHANT CARE UNCHAINED 2021-2022
We coordinated a captive elephant footcare and welfare project for Elephant Care Unchained in Sri Lankan in 2021-2022, with the endorsement of Wildlife Minister C. B. Ratnayake and President of Captive Elephant Owners Association Elephant Care Unchained founder/ CEO, one of the leading captive elephant experts in the world Steve Koyle was able to conduct footcare for 39 elephants whose never had footcare done by a specialist. Further enrichment ideas were advised and implemented where custodians and mahouts were ready to implement.
